Glasgow Gears Up for Second Annual Jeep Drive-In

May 30, 2024 | 3:50 PM

Jeep enthusiasts and community members are eagerly anticipating Glasgow’s second annual Jeep Drive-In, set to take place on June 6th. The event, which begins at 5 PM on the east side of the public square, promises an evening filled with excitement, community spirit, and environmental awareness. Participants who wish to showcase their Jeeps are encouraged to arrive at 4 PM to secure a prime spot for displaying their vehicles.

April Russell, Glasgow City Administrator spoke to WCLU about the origins of the event.

The event is more than just a gathering for Jeep lovers; it’s a celebration of local businesses and a platform for promoting storm water awareness.

Throughout the evening, shops and restaurants surrounding the public square will offer special deals, creating a vibrant atmosphere for attendees. Adding to the festivities, live music will be performed by local artist Nick England, providing entertainment for all ages. Russell went through what attendees can expect through the evening.

A unique aspect of the Jeep Drive-In is its environmental theme, highlighted by the presence of ducks as mascots. The event’s motto, “We all live downstream,” emphasizes the importance of storm water awareness and the collective responsibility to protect water quality in the community

The Jeep Drive-In is expected to draw a substantial crowd, with organizers preparing for a larger turnout than last year. As the community gathers to enjoy the evening, the event aims to blend fun, camaraderie, and a message of environmental stewardship.
