Scottsville Police responded to a domestic assault report at their station’s lobby at approximately 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
The victim reported that 30-year-old Michael D. Chastain of Franklin, KY, had assaulted them at a residence in Scottsville.
Following an investigation, officers located Chastain in a vehicle on East Main Street. Upon their approach, Chastain exited the vehicle and fled on foot, leading officers on a pursuit in the 500 block of East Main Street.
The chase concluded when officers found Chastain on the rooftop of Jack’s Shopping Center, above the Dollar Tree store, where he was arrested without incident.
Chastain faces multiple charges and has been lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
The charges include:
1. Strangulation 1st Degree
2. Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
3. Assault 4th Degree (domestic violence)
4. Fleeing or Evading Police (on foot)
The Scottsville Police Department was assisted by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department in the apprehension.
