Tire Amnesty Week is this week in Barren County.  Thursday, May the 2nd and Friday, May the 3rd from 8am until 4pm, and Saturday, May the 5th from 8am until noon at the Barren County Road Department county barn located at 150 County Barn Road in Glasgow are the dates.

During Barren County Cleanup Week last month, Barren County Solid Waste Coordinator Marcus Thurman tells WCLU News the county took in over 189 tons of trash.  This didn’t include tires, which were not taken in until this specific tire amnesty week.  The county is able to do this event through federal grant funding.  In looking ahead to this weekend, Thurman tells you everything you need to know about disposing of your tires.

Again, thats this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning at The County Barn.  Please enter through the upper lot nearest the actual barn itself.  Follow directions for the route and do bring assistance with you for unloading of tires. No tire retailers, salvage yards, or anyone in the business of recycling tires are eligible to take part.  Most all tires will be accepted on or off the rim, except foam-filled tires, calcium-filled tires, OTRs and solid tires with or without press-on rims.
