Glasgow Police Chief Guy Howie has issued the following statement in regards to the injuries of Sergeant Cameron Murrell and the death of his wife in a car accident this Sunday in Taylor County.
“The Glasgow Police Department is deeply saddened to confirm the tragic loss of Tracy Murrell, wife of Sgt. Cameron Murrell, in an automobile crash that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Taylor County. Tracy Murrell succumbed to her injuries because of the accident, while Sgt. Cameron Murrell was treated and subsequently released from medical care. Sgt. Cameron Murrell is a valued member of our department, and our hearts ache for him during this
incredibly difficult time. The entire Glasgow Police Department extends our sincerest condolences and support to Sgt. Murrell and his family as they navigate this devastating loss.
We ask that the community respect the privacy of the Murrell family as they grieve the loss of Tracy. Our department is providing Sgt. Murrell with the necessary support and resources, and we will continue to stand by him as he copes with this tragedy.
We urge everyone to keep Sgt. Murrell and his family in their thoughts and prayers during this time of mourning.
