According to a press release from the Scottsville Police Department:
On March 22, at approximately 4 p.m. Kentucky State Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle registered to John E. Marks, of Scottsville, on I-65 in Simpson County for traffic violations.
During the course of the traffic stop, consent to search was given by Marks and a positive K-9 alert was given by K-9 Morgan with the Scottsville Police Department. During the search of the vehicle, approximately 20 pounds of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine, one ounce of suspected cocaine, a quantity of Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were located.
Marks was arrested and transported to the Simpson County Detention.
This six month long investigation was conducted by the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force, DEA Bowling Green Post of Duty and the Kentucky State Police.
Marks was lodged on the following charges:
Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st degree (> or =2 grams of Meth)
Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st degree (> or =4 grams of Cocaine)
Drug Paraphernalia- Deliver/Manufacture
Possession of Marijuana
