Glasgow, KY – The Barren County Sherriff’s office has released the following press release in regards to a murder that occurred last night.

On 03/28/2024, at approximately 11:21pm, the Barren County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on Lee Fendell Road in reference to an unresponsive male. After arriving, deputies located a deceased male that had sustained stab wounds. A male subject was located in the area after it was reported that someone had fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. The male subject was identified as being 26-year-old Dedontae Morrison of Glasgow.
Morrison later told detectives that he had entered the deceased male’s bedroom and stabbed him while the victim was in the bed. Morrison did not provide an explanation of why he stabbed the male subject. He was arrested and charged with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He was lodged in the Barren County Corrections Center.
The victim was identified as being Robert Fields, 55 of Glasgow
