John Gary Madison, age 76 of Brownsville, departed this life at his residence on Saturday, March 9, 2024.  The Edmonson County native was born on April 10, 1947 to the late Everette and Lucille Vincent Madison.  He was married to his loving, devoted wife of fifty-eight years, Carla Johnson Madison, who survives.  

 John Gary was a member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church, and sang bass with his family quartet, The Madison Brothers, for countless church and funeral services.  He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, and through the prayers of his mother, Lucille, God permitted him to return back home to his family.  He owned and operated Madison & Associates insurance agency for many years.  John Gary was a former District Deputy Grand Master of Grand Lodge of Kentucky; a past Patron of the Order of Easter Star and past Noble Grand with the Odd Fellows Lodge.  

 Besides his wife, Carla, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Paula Thomas (Dan) of Bowling Green, Wes Madison (Melissa) of Brownsville and Chris Madison (Kim) of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Megan Klaine (Austin), Johnathan Rone (Anna), Alexander Madison (Rubi), Olivia Madison and Ian Madison; great-grandchildren, John “Jack” Klaine, Madeline Klaine, Taylor Rone, Virginia Klaine and Emberton Rone, along with his siblings, Gertie Emma Hill (Mike), Anthony Madison (Pam) and Martha Nell York.

He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Harrison Matthew Rone, and siblings, Gerald, Charles, Rev. Elzie, Raymond, David, Joel Madison and Sheri Madison-Henry.  

 Interment will be in Poplar Spring Church Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made to:  Poplar Spring Cemetery Fund, c/o Anthony Madison, P.O. Box 390, Brownsville, KY  42210.
