7 local students make Dean’s list at EKU

(Richmond, KY)  Eastern Kentucky University has announced the recipients of the Dean’s List, Dean’s Award and President’s Award for the Fall 2024 semester, and several local students from the area were among those honored with the distinction of achievement. 

Four Barren County High School alumni made the Dean’s list.  Garret Hyatt who is studying Aviation, Drew Merlin-Groce majoring in Environmental Health and Sustainable Living, Allie Walton and Madison Thomas, both music majors, all earned Dean’s list honors.  Hyatt also received the President’s Award.

Two Glasgow High School Alumni also earned a spot on the Dean’s list, including Acey Page who studies Occupational Science and Daisy Perez Santiago who majors in Management.  Page also received the President’s award. 

Monroe County graduate Tanner Monday also made the Dean’s list at EKU.  He is studying marketing. 

To achieve Dean’s List honors, students attempting 12 credit hours must earn a 3.75 GPA, students attempting 13 credit hours must earn a 3.65 GPA, and students attempting 14 or more credit hours must earn a 3.5 GPA. All grade point averages are out of a possible 4.0.

Dean’s Award recipients are those students who have achieved the Dean’s List at EKU at least three times. A lapel pin is presented to Dean’s Award students by the dean of their academic college.

The President’s Award was established to recognize outstanding academic achievement, bestowed upon full-time undergraduate students who attain a 4.0 GPA for the semester.
