The Park City Commissioner’s meeting was held yesterday evening at 6 p.m. at Park City Hall. The meeting saw the absence of both Angelo and Donna Scavo.
Mayor Larry Poteet began the meeting by opening the floor to Matt Pedigo a representative from the Barren River Area Development District (BRADD). Pedigo invited the quorum to a comprehensive economic development summit, an event that has been brought up at several other local council, court and commissioner meetings.
Business then moved swiftly to tourism Commissioner Mike Burgess, as the Scavo’s were not present to make their reports to the commission. Burgess main talking point was in regard to two properties in Park City that are not fit for habitation, “One is completely collapsed in on itself,” said Angela Briggs, part of the city’s code enforcement.
As the commissioner meeting moved on, Poteet brought before the commissioners an offer brought to him by Barren County Judge Executive Jamie Bewley-Byrd.
Taking the price of the offer into consideration, the commissioners ultimately decided against the offer.
The commissioners moved to the new business, which began with adding local Ricky Carey to the tourism commission, as well as funding opportunities for the city that Briggs explained further to the commissioners.

This comes after her passing earlier this year, as the commissioners voted to remove her, they happily reminisced about her time working with the city and how she was honored recently at the Kentucky State Senate.
Poteet finished with comments on the Park City Senior Center, which under the direction of Ashlee Briggs has flourished in the small community.
