(October 23, 2023) Scottsville, KY — Scottsville Police arrested a Tennessee man on drug and other charges following a traffic stop on Saturday.
On Saturday, officers conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation on a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu. The driver identified himself to officers as Bradley Johnson. Officers determined that the driver gave a false name, and was correctly identified as 22-year-old James A. Carter of Westmoreland, Tennessee.
Through further investigation, officers requested the on-duty Allen County Sheriff’s Office K9, which then indicated a positive alert on the vehicle. Officers located methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle.
Carter was arrested and charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license; possession of marijuana; possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine; giving false identifying information to an officer; theft of identity; failure to signal or improper signaling; and third degree possession of a controlled substance. He was lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
