Attorney General Cameron Finalizes $120 Million Settlement with Teva, Allergan

Oct 24, 2023 | 12:49 AM

FRANKFORT, Ky. (October 23, 2023) – Attorney General Daniel Cameron has finalized a $120 million settlement with Teva Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Allergan PLC.

The historic agreement resolves allegations that the companies’ marketing and promotional practices fueled the opioid epidemic.

As part of the settlement, Teva will pay nearly 71-and-a-half million dollars over 13 years and Allergan will pay more than 48-and-a-half million dollars over 7 years. This agreement represents the third major opioid claim, along with the settlement of claims against Walmart and CVS, that Cameron has prosecuted to resolution.

Cameron says hopes this settlement helps jumpstart recovery and helps provide a glimmer of hope for all Kentuckians.
