Kentucky State Police Investigate Whitley County Accident

WILLIAMSBURG, KY (October 13, 2023) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a collision in Whitley County that killed a Stearns woman.

Around 8:55pm on Thursday, troopers from KSP post 11 in London responded to a two–vehicle collision on KY 92 around one mile west of Williamsburg.

The initial investigation indicates that a juvenile was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion passenger car traveling eastbound on KY 92 West, when the vehicle crossed the center line hitting a 2012 KIA Sorento head-on. Tyler R. Hardison, 31 Louisville was driving the KIA. The Whitley County Coroner’s Office pronounced 41-year-old Marlainna D. Terry, a front passenger, dead at the scene.

Whitley County EMS transported the juvenile driver of the Fusion and one juvenile passenger to Baptist Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Another juvenile passenger in the Fusion was flown to University of Tennessee Medical Center in critical, but stable, condition.

A fourth juvenile passenger in the Fusion, along with Hardison, the driver of the Kia Sorento, and his two juvenile passengers, were transported by Air Evac to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities performed toxicology tests on both drivers involved in the collision, and results are pending.

KSP Post 11 Trooper Aron Jones is continuing the investigation.
