(October 17, 2023) Bowling Green, KY – A Hopkinsville man was sentenced to prison today for illegally possessing a handgun on two separate occasions.
According to court documents, Marquez Penman, 30, was sentenced to 10 years and 1 month in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release, for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. On May 17, 2022, in Logan County, Penman possessed a Taurus handgun. Nine days later in Todd County, Penman possessed a Ruger handgun. Penman was prohibited from possessing a firearm because he had previously been convicted of felony offenses, including first degree robbery in 2015 and second degree robbery in 2012.
The ATF Bowling Green Field Office, the Kentucky State Police, and the Todd County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
