GREENSBURG, Ky. (October 13, 2023) – A collision in Green County has left a Greensburg man dead and another injured.
Around 6:18pm on Thursday, Kentucky State Police Post 15 Troopers responded to a two-vehicle injury collision on Kentucky 1464 near Emmett Hines Road.
The preliminary investigation determined that 79-year-old Geoffrey Knight of Greensburg was traveling east on Kentucky 1464 in a 1997 Chrysler Town & Country when he slowed his vehicle to make a right turn. Cody Pierce, 25 of Greensburg, was operating a BMW motorcycle, also traveling east on Kentucky 1464 and approached the rear of Knight’s vehicle, colliding with it.
The Green County Coroner pronounced Pierce dead at the scene. Green County EMS treated Knight for minor injuries at the scene.
Senior Trooper Dean Lunz is conducting the ongoing investigation.
