TYNER – A Tyner man is dead following a collision in Jackson County on Tuesday.
Just before 4:30pm, Kentucky State Police Richmond Post was contacted in reference to a two-vehicle collision on Begley Road.
The initial investigation indicates Jeremy Smith, 46, of Tyner, was driving a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle west on Begley Road when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with Mikkel Halverson, 39, of McKee, who was driving a 2002 Ford truck traveling east.
Smith was transported to St. Joseph Health in London where he died from his injuries.
Trooper Tyler Holt is conducting the ongoing investigation.
