CAVE CITY – On September 20, Cave City Police Department K-9 Officer Garth Avery conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Five Star in reference to a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator identified as Sara Buckley, 40, the odor of marijuana was detected emanating from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating suspected marijuana, suspected crystal methamphetamine, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. Sara Buckley was placed under arrest and lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on the following charges:
- No Registration Plates
- No Registration Receipt
- Failure To Produce Insurance Card
- Poss Cont. Sub. 1st Deg, 1st Off. (Methamphetamine)
- Possession Of Marijuana
- Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess
K-9 Officer Avery was assisted in the investigation by CCPD Officer Jacob Kersey.
