BOWLING GREEN – The expected traffic impacts in the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 area for September 22 through September 29 are listed below. All work is subject to change.
Interstate 65
- The weight station at the Kentucky/Tennessee line remains closed as crews are making pavement repairs to the property.
- The Kentucky Welcome Center at the Kentucky/Tennessee is temporarily closed for maintenance.
Barren County
- KY 90 – Paving will continue from KY 839 to the Metcalfe County line. Traffic has been switched to the new alignment, but a lot of work remains. Motorists should slow down and use caution in this area.
- KY 249 (mile point 5 to 11) – Resurfacing is expected to continue in this area. Motorists should expect lane closures.
- U.S. 31-W (mile point 6 to 9) – Resurfacing is expected to continue in this area. Motorists should expect lane closures.
Edmonson County
- KY 70 (mile point 12 to 18) – Crews will be working on resurfacing this section of KY 70. Motorists should expect delays and lane closures.
Metcalfe County
- KY 70 (mile point 1 to 9) – Crews will be working on resurfacing this section of KY 70. Motorists should expect delays and lane closures.
Simpson County
- KY 100 (10.7 to 13.5) – Crews will be working on resurfacing in this area. Lane closures and delays are possible. Motorists should use caution.
- KY 100 (16.5 To 19.1) – Crews will be working on resurfacing in this area. Lane closures and delays are possible. Motorists should use caution.
Todd County
- KY 181 (mile point 25 to 28) – Motorists should expect one-lane traffic with flagging operations. Resurfacing in this section is expected to continue.
- U.S. 79 (Mile point 7.5 to 7.7) – The project at the bridge over Elk Fork Creek continues. One-lane traffic with temporary traffic signal should be expected. A width restriction of 11’ is in place. The project will take several months to complete.
- U.S. 79 (Mile point 1.5 to 2.7) – Paving operations for the new alignment of U.S. 79 from KY 346 continues. Motorists should expect one-lane traffic with flaggers.
Warren County
- U.S. 31-W (Intersection with Cabell Drive) – Crews are expected to continue the rebuild of the traffic signal at this location. The current signal will remain operational until the new signal is completed.
- KY 1083 (mile point 0.0 to 4) – A project to resurface and improve drainage on this section of KY 1083 is expected to begin. Motorists should expect lane closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the next several weeks.
- KY 1297 (mile point 6.3 to 9.2) – A project to resurface this section of Ky 1297 is expected to begin. Crews will be working on base failure repairs. Motorists should expect lane closures from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
