BOWLING GREEN – On Wednesday, Bowling Green Police have arrested a man following an incident on Morgantown Road.
At 5:45pm, BGPD responded to the 900 block of Morgantown Road for multiple calls of shots fired. Officers found shell casings, but no one was injured.
Witnesses told police as they were entering the Dollar General, a man walked from the rear of the restaurant across the street and fired multiple rounds toward them. The shots shattered the doors of the business. Video surveillance confirmed the eyewitness accounts and showed the man arrived in a black Chrysler 300 in the parking lot of the restaurant.
Officers canvassed the area and found the vehicle at Abel Court apartments along with 18-year-old Joshua E. James, who matched the suspect description. Officers obtained a search warrant for James’ apartment and located the clothing James was wearing in the surveillance footage. They did not, however, locate the gun used.
James is lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail and is charged with three counts of first degree wanton endangerment, and one count of first degree criminal mischief.
