Head-On collision on Scottsville Road claims life of Tennessee man and injures others

GLASGOW – On August 4th, just after 7:30 p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green was requested to respond to a fatal collision in Barren County. Troopers responded to the scene of the collision located at the 5.5 mile marker of Scottsville Road (US 31-E) near the intersection of Browning School Road.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Chadwick Maxey, 50, of Gallatin, TN, was operating a 2013 GMC truck southbound on Scottsville Road when he crossed the center dividing line and entered into the northbound lane of travel.  Maxey’s vehicle struck a 2001 GMC truck, being operated by David Crawford, 50, of Lucas, that was traveling northbound. Maxey was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office. Crawford along with a passenger in Crawford’s vehicle, Coy Bragg, 46, of Glasgow, were flown to Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

The investigation is being led by Trooper Michael Wathen. He was assisted at the scene by Barren County EMS, Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Barren County Coroner, and KSP personnel.
