The Barren County Quasquibicentennial Celebration committee is hard at work and will soon be ready to release the schedule of events, which will be finalized on August 7th, just one month from Barren County’s 225th Birthday Party!
If any individual, club or organization would like to host an event for this historic celebration, please let them know. The committee meets every Wednesday at noon at Colton’s. This entire 4-day celebration is for all Barren Countians and all visitors who would like to help celebrate.
The committee is looking for square dancers to perform on Saturday, September 9th. They’re also looking for the oldest living man and oldest living woman in Barren County, and the longest married couple. They will receive recognition during Opening Ceremonies on Thursday, September 7th. They must have lived in Barren County for a minimum of 10 years.
If you want to help celebrate Barren County’s 225th birthday by hosting an event, performing as a square dancer, or nominating someone for the oldest living man and woman or longest married couple, call 270-590-8633.
