BOWLING GREEN – The expected traffic impacts in the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 area for July 14-21 are listed below. All work is subject to change.
Interstate 65
- A project to resurface I-65 from mile-marker 43 to the mile-marker 48 continues with lane closures. The preparation phase of the project has created additional daytime lane closures. The single-lane closures will start in the northbound direction near mile-marker 43. Motorists should use caution and expect slowed and stopped traffic in the area.
Louie B. Nunn-Cumberland Expressway
- A project to resurface the Louie B. Nunn-Cumberland Expressway from I-65 (mile point 0.0) to near the KY 1297 bridge (mile point 9.3) continues. Motorists should expect delays and lane closures. Traffic control barrels are also located close to the travel lane. Motorists should slow down, avoid distracted driving, and obey all signage.
Allen County
- U.S. 31-E (Mile points 13 to 19) – Paving on this section of U.S. 31-E is expected to continue into early this week. Motorists should use caution and expect delays.
Barren County
- KY 90 – Paving prep work will continue from KY 839 to the Metcalfe County line with resurfacing set to begin when the prep work is finished. Traffic has been switched to the new alignment, but a lot of work remains. Motorists should slow down and use caution in this area.
Logan County
- U.S. 79 (mile points 2.5 to 4.7) – Motorists should expect lane shifts and one-lane traffic with a temporary signal as a bridge project continues. The speed limit is reduced to 45 mph. A width restriction of 11 feet is in place.
- KY 1151 (mile points 4 to 9) – A drainage improvement project continues with ditching and shouldering operations. One traffic should be expected. Delays are possible.
- KY 1293 (mile points 0 to 6) – A drainage improvement project continues with ditching and shouldering operations. One traffic should be expected. Delays are possible.
Todd County
- U.S. 79 (mile points 1.6 to 2.5) – Crews will be working on earthwork operations and bridge work. The speed has been reduced to 45 mph in this section. Please use caution and expect delays with flagging operations.
- U.S. 68X (mile points 0.0 to 0.2) – Asphalt patching is expected to begin. Motorists should expect a one-lane road with flaggers during daytime operations.
- KY 1309 (mile points 0.0 to 1.0) – Asphalt patching is expected to begin. Motorists should expect a one-lane road with flaggers during daytime operations.
- KY 181 (mile points 18.24 to 18.28) – Asphalt patching is expected to begin. Motorists should expect a one-lane road with flaggers during daytime operations.
Warren County
- U.S. 231 Morgantown Road (mile point 22) – A project to overlay the bridge deck will continue. A temporary traffic signal will be in place.
