A memorial service for Linda Harris Armstrong, former Glasgow First Lady has been scheduled. A Celebration of life honoring Linda Harris Armstrong will be Saturday, July 1st from 5:00-8:00 pm at 535 Lexington Drive in Glasgow. Dress will be casual as the event will be outdoors.
Linda Harris Armstrong died Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. She was born on October 11, 1951, to the late Howard and Maude Speck Harris. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Joe and Penn Harris.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and a proud 1969 graduate of Glasgow High School. While attending Glasgow High School her passion was the Glasgow Scottie Band serving as a Majorette. Over the years she enjoyed following her husband and the band Myst of Tyme as an honorary member, always requesting the band finish with her favorite song “Old Fifty-Five”. Linda also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially “The Rowdy Girls” and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Harold “MD” Armstrong of Glasgow, KY; three children Amber Hatton of Glasgow, KY, Ali Johnson (Markus) of Eugene, OR, and Aaron Armstrong (Tiffany) of Glasgow, KY; six grandchildren Tess Burd (Gavin), Maddey Hatton, Boone Hatton, Jacob Armstrong, Lily Armstrong, and Cora Johnson; a sister Bonita Downey; a sister-in-law Sheila Harris, and a niece and nephew Brandy Lawson (O’Dail) and Max Smith.
Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
