BOWLING GREEN – The expected traffic impacts in the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 area for June 16 through June 23 are listed below. All work is subject to change.
Interstate 65
- A project to resurface I-65 from the 43-mile marker to the 48-mile marker continues with lane closures. The preparation phase of the project has created daytime lane closures. The single-lane closures will start in the northbound direction near the 43-mile marker. Motorists should use caution and expect slowed and stopped traffic in the area.
Louie B. Nunn-Cumberland Expressway
- A project to resurface the Louie B. Nunn-Cumberland Expressway from I-65 (mile point 0.0) to near the KY 1297 bridge (mile point 9.3) continues. Motorists should expect delays and lane closures. Traffic control barrels are also located close to the travel lane. Motorists should slow down, avoid distracted driving, and obey all signage.
Allen County
- KY 1533 (mile points 0.0 to 2.7) – Crews will be working on resurfacing in this section of roadway. Delays should be expected. Please use caution as workers will be in the area. Paving is expected to be completed early in the week.
- KY 87 (mile point 0.0 to 1.4) – Paving is set to begin next week in this section of KY 87. Motorists should expect delays and lane closures.
Barren County
- KY 685 (mile points 0 to 5.3) –Resurfacing on this section of the roadway is expected to begin. Flaggers and lane closures should be expected.
- KY 90 – Paving prep work will continue from KY 839 to the Metcalfe County line with resurfacing set to begin when the prep work is finished. Traffic has been switched to the new alignment, but a lot of work remains. Motorists should slow down and use caution in this area.
Butler County
- KY 1153 (mile points 0.0 to 4.8) – A project to resurface in this section is expected to being. Motorists should expect lane closures and delays.
Edmonson County
- KY 743 (mile points 0.0 to 3.9) –Resurfacing is expected to begin on this section of KY 743. Motorists should expect lane closures and flaggers.
Logan County
- U.S. 79 (mile points 2.9 to 4.7) –Motorists should expect one-lane traffic with temporary traffic signals at the bridges over Vicks Branch. The lane closures are a part of new bridge construction in this area. The lane closure is expected to be in place through summer. The speed limit has been lowered to 45 mph. A width restriction of 10 feet is also in place. Work on the Whippoorwill Creek bridge continues, but traffic has been switched to the new bridge.
- KY 79 (mile point 2.7) – A project to overlay the bridge deck at the bridge over Mud River will continue. A temporary traffic signal will be in place.
Metcalfe County
- KY 163 (mile points 7.3 to 11.2) –Resurfacing is expected to continue on this section of KY 163. Motorists should expect lane closures and flaggers.
Simpson County
- KY 100 – A major road rehabilitation project has created a long-term road closure in a section of KY 100 West Cedar Street in Simpson County. The closure on KY 100 is between KY 1008 McLendon Road and U.S. 31-W.
- KY 1171 (mile point 3.2) – A project to overlay the bridge deck at the bridge over West Fork Drakes Creek is expected to continue. A temporary traffic signal is in place.
Todd County
- U.S. 79 (mile points 1.6 to 2.5) – Crews will be working on earthwork operations and bridge work. The speed has been reduced to 45 mph in this section. Please use caution and expect delays with flagging operations.
Warren County
- KY 1083 – (mile point 0 to 3.9) – Drainage improvements continue and the roadway will down to one lane with flaggers from U.S. 68 Russellville Road to Galloway Mills Road from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm during the week.
- KY 101 (mile points 9.1 to 11.6) – Resurfacing is expected to continue on this section of KY 101. Please expect lane closures and flaggers.
- KY 101 (mile points 0.0 to 3.8) – Resurfacing is expected to continue on this section of KY 101. Please expect lane closures and flaggers.
- U.S. 231 Morgantown Road (milepoint 22) – A project to overlay the bridge deck will continue. A temporary traffic signal will be in place.
