SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (May 30, 2023) — On May 25, 2023, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Dustin Richardson Scott, 29, on charges related to child sexual abuse material.
Mr. Scott was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.
The investigation resulted in a search warrant at a residence in Shepherdsville on May 25, 2023. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
Mr. Scott is currently charged with ten counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance, victim under 12 years old, which are Class-C felonies punishable by five to ten years in prison; and five counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance, which are Class-D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison.
Mr. Scott was lodged in the Bullitt County Detention Center.
