May 17, 2023 | 8:48 AM

BOWLING GREEN – Police have arrested and charged two men with Knowingly Abuse and Neglect of an Adult by a Person.

On Sunday, Bowling Green Police responded to a residence on Gary Avenue to investigate the death of a Bowling Green woman.

According to a statement, 44-year-old Jazzmyne Rose Fikes appeared to be “extremely malnourished” and severely underweight to the extent that her ribs and hip bones were visible.  She also had bedsores, and her hair was matted, and her adult diaper was full of maggots.

Lonnie Leonard, 55, of Bowling Green, told police he was her paid caregiver and that she had a severe case of multiple sclerosis and was bedridden. Alexander Leonard, 49, of Bowling Green, said he was a caregiver for Fikes when Lonnie was unavailable.

Leonard’s sister, Tiffany McCoy, told police she had tried to bathe her, but Fikes became aggressive when she tried.

Fikes’ body was transported to the Medical Examiner for an autopsy, according to police.

Lonnie is held in the Warren County Regional Jail under a $100,000 bond, while Alexander is held under a $25,000 bond. The two are scheduled to appear in Warren District Court on May 19.
