GLASGOW — A GOP candidate for governor and her husband are expected to drop by Glasgow Tuesday afternoon for an event relating to the Boys and Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County.

While little is known about their visit, Kelly and Joe Craft are expected at the event planned for 4 p.m. at 701 Columbia Avenue. A news release specified Monday afternoon that the site is the former New Farmers Bank location at the corner of Grand Avenue and Columbia Avenue.

“The anticipation of this event will be sure to positively impact our community and members thereof, and we hope that you will join us and share in our exhilaration of this event,” the release said.

The Crafts have supported the local Boys and Girls Club in the past with monetary donations. The couple has invested millions of dollars into various philanthropic efforts.

Kelly served as ambassador to the United Nations during Donald Trump’s presidency. Joe is a coal magnate.

Kelly announced her bid for governor of Kentucky in September 2022 in downtown Glasgow.
