GLASGOW — A man was arrested Tuesday evening after he allegedly stopped a vehicle along Hiseville Road, and assaulted and robbed another man.

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of North Jackson Highway and Hiseville Road in reference to a fight in progress. A caller advised that a green-haired man and another man were fighting in the middle of the roadway. The man with green hair had left prior to the deputy’s arrival, according to an arrest citation.

The other man told authorities he had made a left turn from North Jackson Highway onto Hiseville Road. That’s when Dylan A. Baker, 25, allegedly passed his vehicle and stopped in the middle of the roadway. The victim said Baker got out of his passenger car and approached his truck. The man was assaulted while he was sitting inside his truck, the citation said.

Baker allegedly brandished a knife and demanded the man’s car keys. He also took the victim’s cell phone. A deputy said the victim had a noticeable cut on his hand and a mark on his jaw.

Baker apparently placed the man’s belongings inside his car before he climbed onto the victim’s pickup truck hood and shattered his windshield. Baker told the man he was planning to drive to Coomer Road in Metcalfe County and kill the man’s sister and niece. Baker also lives at the residence, according to an arrest citation.

Metcalfe County authorities intercepted Baker at the residence along Coomer Road. He denied all of the allegations the victim told Barren County deputies.

Deputies found the victim’s car key and cell phone inside Baker’s pocket. A pocket knife like the one described by the victim was also located.

Two other witnesses at the scene in Barren County corroborated the victim’s story. One caught the incident partially on a Ring doorbell camera.

Baker remains lodged at the Barren County Detention Center on a $20,000 cash bond. He faces charges relating to first-degree robbery, second-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree assault.
