GLASGOW — Farmers RECC said 3,500 people are still without power across their service region as of 1 p.m. on Monday.
Crews expected to make good progress, a news release said. They have 25 crews on the ground and 120 employees working altogether to restore power to customers.
All members are urged to avoid any contact with power lines – even during tree or debris removal. They said power lines should always be considered energized and any contact with them is extremely dangerous. Should you see any debris in contact with power lines report them at (270) 651-2191.
Some members have noted usage readings despite being without power. Farmers RECC said this can happen because meters estimate daily readings based on historic usage at certain places. This happens when meters do not receive an actual reading.
“Once power is restored and we regain communications with the meter, it will reset to the actual reading,” they said.
Another point of confusion has been among people who have neighbors nearby with power while they do not. This could be for a number of reasons, Farmers RECC said.
Your home may be served by a different substation, line or transformer. Your line could also be damaged at your service line or service connection point. It is also important to check your panel box to make sure you don’t have any tripped circuit breakers.
Their lobbies will remain closed on Tuesday to allow employees to focus on restoration efforts. The drive-thru at the Glasgow office will remain open.
“We will continue to share updates as we have them. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we restore electric service and peace of mind.”
