GLASGOW — High winds have resulted in power outages and structural damage to many buildings.

Authorities are working to clear debris from roadways throughout the county. One of the major structural damages present Friday was the roofing at Shoney’s. A large portion of the metal blew out into the 31-E bypass. Glasgow Police and Fire had the roadway closed as of 3:30 p.m. Several tree limbs were out in roads, too.

Traffic lights across Glasgow were inoperable through the afternoon. Crews were working to restore power.

The Glasgow Regional Landfill is closed for the remainder of Friday. Glasgow Parks and Recreation said all city parks would close, too.

The Glasgow EPB urged community members to report sightings of structural damage to power lines and poles to (270) 651-8341 or Facebook.com/GlasgowEPB. Farmers RECC has an outage map, which is accessible at this link.

A high wind warning is in effect through 9 p.m. across much of the region.
