GLASGOW — Glasgow and Barren County Clean-Up Week is slated for March 27-31, 2023.
The Glasgow Department of Public Works said it would hold its typical Saturday recycling event on March 4 from 8 a.m. to noon. Saturday recycling is held on the first Saturday of each month. A free shredder day will be held on March 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. Both events are scheduled to be at the Public Works parking area along Front Street just behind the Post Office location.

As for Barren County’s spring cleaning efforts, dumpsters will be available at various places around the county for a week. The service will run daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to county residents.
“We ask that you bring help to unload your items into the provided dumpsters,” a flyer from the Barren County Solid Waste Office said. “We will have equipment on site to assist with large heavy items.”

South Barren Volunteer Fire Department (Headquarters at Steam Mill Road) — Friday, March 31
Large items such as appliances, couches, dressers, mattresses and recliners will be accepted. All small items must be bagged or boxed. No loose items will be accepted.
The drop-off locations will not accept items like tires, batteries, liquids, paint, oil and pesticides.
