GLASGOW — Several students at Red Cross Elementary were recognized as classroom winners in the inaugural Who Was? History Bee event.

The Who Was? History Bee is a trivia contest being held across the United States during the 2022-2023 school year, according to a news release from Red Cross Elementary. Four regional champion student winners are expected to be named sometime soon. Each student represents a certain geographic region of the country and are eligible to win a $2,500 U.S. Savings Bond, a Who Was? Library set for themselves, and a Who Was? Library set for their classroom or library.

Along with receiving their prizes, the four regional champions will be celebrated in a virtual Who Was? History Bee Roblox event in May 2023.

Classroom winners in the most recent event included a mixture of fifth, fourth and third-grade students: Brianna H. (5), Madison P. (5) and Brently C. (5); Tavis D. (4), Maddie B. (4), Abby K. (4) and James C. (4); and Latcher H. (3), Pailynn D. (3), Stella Jean S. (3) and Langston P. (3).

The school champion was third-grade student Latcher H.

“We are very proud of all the students who participated in our first annual Who Was? History Bee,” said a statement from Red Cross Elementary.
