Gena Faye Couch, 75, was born in Lexington, KY.  The beloved mother of five, passed away at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY on New Year’s Day after a series of health issues.  In the hours leading up to her death, Gena was surrounded by her children, their spouses, many of her grandchildren and loving family friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents:  Orville and Virginia Lewis of Lexington, KY, life partner Floyd Wood of Glasgow, her Son-In-Law Dean Rowe of Edmonton, KY and her mother and father-in-law Elwood and Edith Couch of Lexington.

Gena attended Bryan Station High School in Lexington.  She was an Air Force wife, giving birth to two of her five children while her former husband, James Couch, was stationed in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Gena’s other three children were born in Lexington where she made her home before moving to Glasgow in 1979.  She was a longtime member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Glasgow and a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, a member of the T.J. Samson ladies auxiliary, a ham radio operator, a Cub Scout leader and a volunteer at the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Glasgow.

Gena is survived by her children:  Kellie Hopper (Bill), of Union Grove, NC; Scott Couch (Dana) of Hendersonville, TN; Gena Marie Rowe (Dean) of Edmonton/Glasgow, KY; Chris Couch (La’Casta) of Glasgow; Andy Couch (Amy) of Madisonville, KY along with sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  The grandchildren are: Josh and Ashley Hopper; Caitlin and Carter Couch; Chase Garmon; Terri Davis (Jarod Fitts); Tabitha Couch; C.J. Couch (Amy); Jon; Jaxon; Jeremiah and Hannah Couch; Sam, Ben, Luke and John Robert Couch.  The great grandchildren are Avery Davis; Elizabeth Fitts; Waylon Meredith, Grayson Couch and one on the way.  Gena also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, several nieces and nephews and several close friends whom she considered family.

Funeral Service will be 5:00pm Friday, January 6th at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00pm until 5:00pm at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service.
