GLASGOW — A Barren County Schools administrator has been named as one of two finalists for a national leadership award.
CheyAnne Fant, Director of Nutrition Services and Afterschool Programs for Barren County Schools, has been named a finalist for the 2023 Women in School Leadership Awards. The awards, sponsored by Horace Mann and AASA, pay tribute to the talent, creativity, and vision of outstanding women educational administrators in the nation’s public schools, according to a news release from Barren County Schools.
“CheyAnne Fant is a wonderful leader whose compassion and tenacity have deeply impacted the students and staff in our district. Her dedication and commitment to BC Schools is unwavering, and her vision is inspiring,” said Bo Matthews, superintendent of Barren County Schools.
Candidates are judged on leadership in meeting the learning needs of students, personal and organizational communication strength, constant professional improvement of knowledge and skills, and active community involvement.
The final award recipients in each category will be announced during the AASA National Conference on Education on Feb. 16-18, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas.
