CHALYBEATE — An Edmonson County woman is dead after authorities say she died while burning leaves at her home.
Kentucky State Police responded to 4089 Chalybeate Road Thursday around 5 p.m. in response to a request to aid in a death investigation. The Edmonson Sheriff’s Office was already on scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates Texie Colley, 94, was burning leaves at her residence. When first responders arrived, she was located dead in her yard. No foul play is suspected, police said.
An autopsy is expected to be performed at the Kentucky Medical Examiners Office in Louisville.
The investigation continues and is being led by Trooper Wesley Thompson.
