Cave City gearing up to hold Christmas festivities

CAVE CITY — Locals in north Barren County are gearing up for the Christmas season.

The Cave City Chamber of Commerce said three major events are on tap to celebrate Christmastime. Those will include the Cave City Christmas Parade, a lighting contest and awards and hall of fame banquet.

Christmas Parade

  • It is slated for Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at 4 p.m.
  • The theme is “Home For The Holidays”
  • The grand marshal will be Dr. Sherman & Sharon Ballou.
  • Parade applications are available at the Cave City Chamber of Commerce or may be downloaded from www.cavecitychamber.com. Submit applications by mail to the Cave City Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 460, Cave City, KY 42127; by fax at 270-773-7446 or in person at 821 Mammoth Cave St., Cave City, KY.
  • Deadline for applications is Dec. 2, 2022.

Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting Contest

  • It is slated for Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at 6 p.m.
  • Judging will be done for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places across three categories: Business Lighting, Residential-Traditional, and Residential-Unusual.

Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards & Hall of Fame Christmas Banquet
  • It is slated for Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, at the Cave City Convention Center.
  • Fellowship hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with the banquet to follow at 6:30 p.m.
  • This year’s inductee is Dan Broady.
  • Tickets are $28 and are available at the Chamber office at 821 Mammoth Cave St. or online at www.cavecitychamber.com.
