GLASGOW — The Glasgow Police and Fire Departments are accepting toys and food for local families this holiday season.
The department is hosting a Holiday Heroes Toy & Food Drive. It runs through Dec. 16.
“We are collecting holiday donations for the residents of Barren County, and we will fill as many requests as possible based on the donations received,” according to a news release.
Community members are urged to drop unwrapped toys for children as old as 16 at three locations. Non-perishable food item donations are also encouraged.
The drop-off locations are the Glasgow Police Department’s headquarters at 101 Pin Oak Lane in Glasgow; Glasgow Fire Station One at 203 S. Broadway St.; and Station Two at 130 Cross St.
Requests to receive the gifts and food donated are also being accepted. The police department said they plan to fill as many requests as possible based on the donations received.
To get on the list to receive gifts or food, contact the Glasgow Police Department by private message on Facebook. They ask that you include the age, name, address and phone number of all children.
Pick-up will be Dec. 20 and 21 at the Glasgow Police Department. Residents will receive a call once enough donations have been received to fill their boxes.
