GLASGOW — A man was arrested Wednesday after a woman said she was beaten and punched.

A woman came to the Glasgow Police Department after an alleged domestic altercation. She revealed to police the altercation with her boyfriend happened Tuesday around 8 p.m. They apparently reside together along Taylor Street, according to a news release from police.

Jhah A. Rizen, 47, was identified as the woman’s boyfriend. He allegedly punched her in the face, “beat her” and held her against her will. Rizen also threated to kill her and her grandchildren.

The woman said she could not leave the home until Wednesday morning. Rizen apparently threatened her and said he would “beat the shit out of her” and let her die if she pressed charges on him.

The officer said the woman appeared scared, had a swollen nose and scratches on her neck, was hysterical and crying. She said she came straight to the police department for help.

Rizen was later arrested after police responded to the couple’s home. He told authorities there was no altercation between the two and “acted like he did not known what police were talking about.”

An officer asked Rizen why the woman had a busted nose. He apparently dropped his head and said “man.” No further details were provided.

Rizen was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond. He’s charged with fourth degree assault and first degree unlawful imprisonment.
