This logo created by Chandlerthinks, a Franklin, Tenn.-based marketing company, was recommended to be the city of Glasgow’s official logo by members of a city committee. The logo will head to the mayor and council for consideration. The mayor will issue a final executive order to approve the logo.

GLASGOW — A Tennessee-based marketing and branding firm is expected to reveal later this month a complete branding and identity package created for the city of Glasgow.

The presentation was expected by late May, but additional work continued through most of the summer. Steve Chandler, the owner of Chandlerthinks, began work last summer on the project and is expected to reveal his work at an Aug. 22 meeting of the city council.

The Strategic Planning Committee is the group overseeing the brand’s construction. Members met Thursday evening to consider three logos and selected one to present to the Glasgow Council. The final option was “3A,” though some modifications will be made before it is revealed to the council.

The council will not vote on the matter through a resolution or ordinance, according to Councilperson Wendell Honeycutt. The mayor is expected to issue an executive order, which will suffice as the acceptance of the logo.

It remains unclear what details will be revealed as a part of the city’s branding package. Members of the Strategic Planning Committee expect to see a tagline, color scheme and vehicle wraps among other inclusions.

City officials said $15,000 was raised through private funding and went toward the project. The Glasgow-Barren County Community Fund contributed to the $29,770 needed to engage Chandlerthinks.
