State police continue search for three men after man shot Friday

MAGNOLIA — State police are investigating a murder in northern Hart County.

Hart County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 10070 Hammonsville Road near Magnolia and located a deceased male in a yard near a home, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police. State officials responded just before 6 p.m.

Detectives identified Robert W. Myers, 78, as the deceased person. He had confronted three white male suspects who were taking items from a residence he owned, state police said. The confrontation ended when Myers was shot multiple times.

The three male suspects were observed leaving the scene in a U-Haul pickup truck. They reportedly fled northbound along Highway 357 in Hart County.
