BOWLING GREEN — A Park City native was awarded a scholarship as a part of an annual scholarship program for children of employees at Essity, a hygiene and health company.
Meredith Hennion was awarded a $2,500 scholarship for the next school year, and she plans to use it at Morehead State University.
This year, the students received a combined total of $74,500 in Essity scholarships to use toward their full-time education at an accredited U.S. or Canadian university for the 2022-23 school year. Over the last 15 years, Essity has given $979,500 to high school seniors and college students.
The recipients were selected based on their academic achievements, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and an outside appraisal.
In the United States and Canada, Essity manufactures, sells and distributes products under the world-renowned brands Tork® (professional hygiene products), TENA® (incontinence and personal care products), JOBST® (compression therapy), Cutimed® (advanced wound care), Leukoplast® (acute wound care) and the orthopedic brands Delta-Cast® and Actimove®.
Essity has local operations in Bowling Green, according to a news release from the company.
