Police investigating shooting along Bryan Street, one injured

UPDATE: Police said an altercation among several people led to the eventual shooting of one person.

A vehicle allegedly made several trips to the area of a home along Bryan Street. It stopped at a residence and one person brandished a firearm, according to a news release. Several shots were fired afterward, and one subject was shot in the hand.

The victim of the shooting left the scene and traveled to a home along North Race Street before he was transported to the local hospital. The unidentified man was treated and released.

James Smith, and Steven Brown, both of Glasgow, were arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first degree wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.

The case remains under investigation and further arrests are pending.

GLASGOW — Police are investigating an alleged drive-by shooting along Bryan Street.

Glasgow Police responded to the scene of the shooting around noon Saturday. One person was transported to TJ Samson Hospital with injuries. The extent of the injuries is unclear.

A person was taken into custody shortly after 1 p.m. Police did not immediately release the identity of the suspect.

Bryan Street remains closed as of 1:30 p.m. A residence along North Race Street is also being named as a part of the ongoing investigation, said Major Terry Flatt, the department’s public information officer.

More information is expected to be released later.
