GLASGOW — A woman who allegedly threatened a local veterinarian and employees of TJ Regional Health earlier this week has been arrested.
Rebecca A. Cooper, 35, of Glasgow, was served a warrant at her Adams Place apartment on Thursday evening, according to court records. She was summoned on three charges – third degree terroristic threatening, harassing communications and first degree stalking.
Cooper allegedly visited the TJ Health Pavilion in Glasgow on Monday and became irate with doctors and staff, a complaint warrant said. She allegedly made threats, too.
Authorities said the incident was not the first time Cooper had exhibited such behavior. The situation had persisted over the “last few weeks.”
“They’re scared of a 90 pound girl with osteoarthritis,” according to a post on her Facebook.
The woman is alleged to have said doctors and staff were racist and made comments about the KKK, TJ Pavilion staff said. She also became “belligerent while on the premises.” Authorities made her leave the pavilion, and she was issued a ban letter the next day, according to the summons.
Several threats and deranged comments were posted to Cooper’s social media accounts, which targeted two physicians – Dr. James Heltsley and Dr. Christopher Behringer.
Authorities said she also made threats to Dr. Jim Heltsley, a local veterinarian, and Dennis Wilcutt, a local attorney. Her posts included rants that referenced mass shootings and the possibility of mass shootings, the warrant said.
Cooper is lodged at the Barren County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond. She is scheduled to appear in Barren District Court on June 20 at 12:30 p.m.
