ELIZABETHTOWN — One person is dead after a Monday night crash in Hardin County along Interstate 65.

Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision along the interstate just after 11 p.m. EST. A trooper was in route to a seperate crash along the Western Kentucky Parkway, a news release said.

Chloe Corse, 19, of Louisville, was traveling northbound along the interstate when her vehicle lost control during a period of heavy rainfall. The vehicle began to spin and came to rest in the northbound lanes but faced the southbound direction. Another vehicle hit her car in a head-on fashion.

Gerald Bell, 56, of Bruceton, Tenn., was the driver of the vehicle that crashed into Corse’s. Bell had a 25-year-old passenger inside the vehicle. They were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Bell later died.

Corse was not injured in the collision, police said. The interstate remained closed for about one hour while authorities investigated.
