EDMONTON — A trial in Metcalfe County ended last week, and man was found guilty in a case involving a sexual crime against a child.
A jury heard evidence from attorneys before returning a guilty verdict, which was alleged against 29-year-old Robert Chasteen. He was found guilty of first degree sodomy (in a continuing course of conduct, victim under 12 years of age).
The jury recommended 50 years in prison.
Chasteen is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 23 for final sentencing, according to a news release from the office of Commonwealth’s Attorney John Gardner.
The trial was held April 27 and 28.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Ricky Cross investigated the incident. It was prosecuted by Mike Richardson, an assistant commonwealth’s attorney.
