GLASGOW — A roadway will be temporarily closed in eastern Barren County beginning Wednesday.
A drainage improvement project is slated to begin midweek along New Salem Road. The road is expected to be closed from the intersection of Hollis Thomas Road to U.S. 68, according to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The impacted portion of road is about five miles.
The closure is expected to reopen Saturday, April 30.
A signed detour will be placed in the area. Motorist will be required to use Kentucky 1519, U.S. 68 and Lecta Salem Road.
“Motorists should allow extra travel for the detour and use caution while traveling through the area,” the KYTC said.
