GLASGOW — Two disposal sites were closed this afternoon due to winds moving across the area.
Officials closed the Glasgow Regional Landfill and a cleanup site stationed in eastern Barren County. The sites closed at 1 p.m.
Cleanup Week is going on in Barren County through Friday. The location at East Barren Fire Department was slated to be open through 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Wind gusts and warmer temperatures are moving through the southcentral Kentucky region ahead of a storm system, which is expected late Wednesday and early Thursday. Gusts are expected to reach 50 miles per hour, forecasters said.
