GLASGOW — Aaron Russell started working inside the Glasgow Electric Plant Board’s marketing department nearly a year ago, and one of his proudest accomplishments yet is the recent renovation of the utility’s website.

Russell started work on updating the utility’s logo and website a few months ago before officials approved it. The logo was updated to commemorate the municipal utility’s 60 years of service in the community. The site was unveiled shortly after, too.

A tweak to the site’s address is slight but a significant one since folks have used the former link for about 20 years. The new site address is GlasgowEPB.com, but the former GlasgowEPB.net will continue to work.

“This is going to be the future of that webpage,” Russell said. “But also soon, we’ll be transitioning glasgow-ky.com.”

The transition will be the first since the webpage was developed in 1995. Russell said the former webpage should forward to GlasgowEPB.com beginning April 1. Changes to “Glasgow-ky.com” will not affect email domains issued by the Glasgow.

The webpage also features many modern updates such as the creation of a service application portal and a bill payment link. New customers can apply for services and current customers can transfer their services via the website under the “Residential” tab.

“That’s something huge. It helps our customer service department out. I think it helps our customers greatly,” Russell said. “A big thing is it helps keep people not waiting forever.”

Alerts, archives and other pertinent information otherwise found on social media will be house at the site.
