Mar 14, 2022 | 10:00 AM

GLASGOW — County-wide cleanup week is scheduled March 28 through April 1, which is a week after Glasgow’s city-wide cleanup. County trucks and dumpsters will be at various locations across Barren County that week.

“We would like to give the opportunity to the residents of Barren County to have a free opportunity to throw large items, or stuff that’s been setting around, out for free,” said Jamie Cummings, Barren County Solid Waste and Code Enforcement Coordinator.

The service is free to all Barren County citizens. Dumpsters will be placed at 7: 30 a.m. each day and will remain until 4 p.m. Locations and dates are listed below.

  • Hiseville at Mill Street – Monday, March 28
  • Park City at Park City Fire Department – Tuesday, March 29
  • Cave City Volunteer Fire Department – Tuesday, March 29
  • East Barren Volunteer Fire Department – Wednesday, March 30
  • Austin Tracy Volunteer Fire Department – Thursday, March 31
  • Haywood Volunteer Fire Department – Thursday, March 31
  • Temple Hill Fairgrounds – Friday, April 1
  • South Barren Volunteer Fire Department at Steam Mill Road – Friday, April 1

Large items such as appliances, couches, dressers, mattresses and recliners will be accepted.

All small items must be bagged or boxed. No loose items will be accepted.

Items like tires, batteries, liquids, oil and pesticides are not allowed.

“Due to limited contact, you must be able to unload and place trash in the provided dumpsters,” according to a flyer from the judge-executive’s office.

Questions should be directed to Barren County Solid Waste at (270) 651-3338.
