GLASGOW — A Tennessee man who allegedly fled on foot near downtown Glasgow Tuesday morning was apprehended and arrested on drug related charges.

Detectives with the Barren River Drug Task Force noticed two people unconscious in a vehicle parked behind the county government building, according to a news release. Authorities contacted one of them and noticed a tubular container inside the car.

Gregory Thurman, of Hendersonville, Tenn., was inside the car when the detectives arrived. He got out of the car and told police the container contained a suboxone pill. He was unable to provide identification when police asked. He “grabbed the tubular container and fled on foot.”

Thurman was detained and arrested without incident. Police said the container was in his pocket and it contained suspected methamphetamine and a suboxone pill.

Police arrested Thurman and charged him with fleeing or evading police, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.

The other person inside the car was not charged and was released, police said.
