LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Officials say a Kentucky man is suspected of fatally shooting a 10-year-old boy and then killing himself.
Lexington police said in a statement that officers responded Sunday to a report of shots fired at a residence and found the pair dead at the scene. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office said in a statement that both died of gunshot wounds.
The statement identified the boy as Landon Hayes and said his death was a homicide. The statement said 22-year-old Tyrus Lathem died of suicide. The relationship between the two wasn’t clear.
